How to add Joyned to your Google Analytics
adding Joyned events to your Google Analytics is quick and easy, and is done in three easy steps:
- Adding triggers
- Adding tags
- Connecting the tags and the triggers
Step 1: Adding triggers
In GTM, click "New" to add a trigger
Click “Custom event”
Name the events using regex matching
Input the names as they are written in the events menu below:
Event Name | Description | extra properties |
---|---|---|
Joyned_traveller | Use this event to tag users that are using Joyned | |
Joyned_minimize | a user clicked to minimize the Joyned window | |
Joyned_maximize
| a user clicked to maximize the Joyned window | |
Joyned_share_clicked | a user clicked to share wishlist | Type (whatsapp, mail, etc) |
Joyned_click | a user has clicked on a Joyned button | |
Joyned_impression | a unique view of the Joyned button (on any page) | if an AB test is enabled: Show/Hide |

Joyned_product_added | a user has added an item to the list | |
Joyned_tooltip_displayed | a unique view of the Joyned explanation tooltip (on any page, only if tooltip is live) | |
Joyned_tooltip_x_clicked | A user has clicked "X" to hide the Joyned explanation tooltip |
Repeat for each event!
At the end your trigger list will look like this, with one line per event you've added:
Step 2: Adding tags
Now you can create tags to match the triggers.
Create tags
Select “Universal Analytics” as tag type
Configure your tag
Select “Event” as track type
Tick the box and add your GA tracking ID to link to your GA
Step 3: Connecting the tags and the triggers
Connect the tags to triggers
Repeat for each event
Make sure triggers are connected to tags
Finally, submit and publish changes
Congrats! You’re done!
Perform a sanity check with us
After you've configured your GA and GTM to receive Joyned events, we need to make sure that all events are transmitted correctly.
