Adding Joyned events to your Google Analytics

How to add Joyned to your Google Analytics

adding Joyned events to your Google Analytics is quick and easy, and is done in three easy steps:

  1. Adding triggers
  2. Adding tags
  3. Connecting the tags and the triggers

Step 1: Adding triggers

In GTM, click "New" to add a trigger

Click “Custom event”

Name the events using regex matching

Input the names as they are written in the events menu below:

Use this event to tag users that are using Joyned

Repeat for each event!

At the end your trigger list will look like this, with one line per event you've added:

Step 2: Adding tags

Now you can create tags to match the triggers.

Create tags

Select “GA4 Event” as tag type

Configure your tag

Select “Event” as track type

Tick the box and add your GA tracking ID to link to your GA

Step 3: Connecting the tags and the triggers

Connect the tags to triggers

Repeat for each event

Make sure triggers are connected to tags

Finally, submit and publish changes

Perform a sanity check with us

After you've configured your GA and GTM to receive Joyned events, we need to make sure that all events are transmitted correctly.

Contact your CSM to schedule a data sanity check.

For some GA accounts, high volumes of events are not all counted but sometimes only "sampled". In this case, you should expect up to a 10% discrepancy between the numbers displayed on your GA and the numbers reported directly by us.
