Step 1: Navigate to the Admin Panel
- Log into Google Tag Manager.
- Select the appropriate GTM Container where you want to import the settings.
- Click on the Admin tab at the top of the navigation.
Step 2: Import the Container
- In the Admin panel, click on Import Container.
- Click Choose container file and upload the JSON file that was provided via email. If received as a Google Drive link, download it first before uploading.
Step 3: Select Import Options
- Merge (Recommended) – This option adds the new tags, triggers, and variables while keeping your existing setup.
- You choose:
- Overwrite conflicting tags, triggers, and variables – Recommended if you want to update existing configurations.
Note - Import Joyned tags, variables, and triggers—seamlessly integrated and ready to go. This process only adds new tags and triggers without overwriting any existing ones. You can review the setup before publishing to ensure everything remains unchanged.
Step 4: Review and Publish
- After importing, review the newly added tags, triggers, and variables.
- If everything looks correct, publish the container by clicking Submit in the workspace.
